Rabbithole: The Partisan Fight for AI
Innovations in science, fintech+AI-apocalypses, and a political storm surge
I’m bringing the Rabbithole back. I need to write freely and publish it, but I don’t feel so free to publish it all in the open, yet. I’ve had a lot of things on my mind for the past month and they boil down to 2 questions :
Why the fuck are conservatives interested in scientific innovation all of a sudden?
What the fuck is going to happen now that Eliezer Yudkowsky practically broke down crying about the AI apocalypse on a podcast and called for a militaristic halt to AI development?
To cope with these questions and their potential answers I’ve turned to the vexing, but hilarious Karl Popper. I’d love for you to let me read to you LIVE on Instagram to read Open Society and Its Enemies at 11 am CT M-F. I’ll be summarizing the book with a very fun and entertaining Lecturoke event on April 22nd. Paid subscribers, this event is FOR YOU!
If you’re not a paid subscriber, well, first of all, you should be one - but you can purchase a ticket.
These questions bubbled up for me because of some fun contradictions: I rubbed elbows with a brand new conservative academic freedom center while in the midst of applying for a fellowship with a progressive academic freedom center.
