Syllojism S2E2 - Sad Boy Ecology w/ Pete Cooper

Squirreling around with Howard Gardner's Naturalistic Intelligence

Syllojism is a bi-weekly, culture, and philosophy challenge podcast on the edge of chaos.

CHALLENGE: Spend 4 hours “in nature” and record your observations.

This week Naturalist Pete Cooper helped us sort out whatever the hell Naturalistic Intelligence might be. Basically, we wandered around in the woods, recorded it and we had an ecologist tell us we’re smart.

Show Notes:

2:06 Sad boy ecologist hanging out in “Natural beauty”

“One of the penalties of an ecological education is that one lives alone in a world of wounds. Much of the damage inflicted on land is quite invisible to laymen. An ecologist must either harden his shell and make believe that the consequences of science are none of his business, or he must be the doctor who sees the marks of death in a community that believes itself well and does not want to be told otherwise.” - Aldo Leopold
